You will be cooking in a brand-new kitchen with a ‘cook to order’ menu. Great food makes a big impact on the quality of our community members’ lives.
The Cook is responsible for performing and coordinating food preparation that meets and / or exceeds quality, quantity, and service schedule requirements for the community.
Responsibilities:
- Prep and prepare meals for community members.
- Prepare, coordinate, and assist in managing the meal service.
- Sanitation of food service areas.
- Must have accurate record keeping.
- Responsible for receiving and rotating inventory.
- Prepares special dietary needs as required.
- Prepares texture modified food as requested.
- Follows all local, state, and federal policies regarding food handling.
- Monitors for compliance and quality service standards.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Associates degree in Culinary Arts preferred.
- Must have experience cooking meals in large quantities.
- Serve Safe Certified preferred.
- Menu planning experience preferred.
- Ability to multitask.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Able to effectively communicate in English.
- Must be able to verify eligibility to work in the United States.
- Willing to undergo and pass a criminal background check.
- Must have a current TB test and Physical (if required by the position).
Requirements:
- Every other weekend is required.
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds and support 100 pounds.
- Kneel, crouch, and bend frequently.
- Must be able to stand for entire shift.
